Who we are and our history
In Brazil, FBTC has established partnerships with entities as Brazilian Association of Psychiatry (ABP), Brazilian Society of Psychology (SBP), Brazilian Association of Studies on Alcohol and Other Drugs (ABEAD), Brazilian Society of Hospital Psychology (SBPH), among others.
It is a non-profit organization that stands for ethics and high scientific standards as far as the production and clinical practice of its members are concerned. Being a FBTC member grants associated professionals/students the credibility of being part of a distinguished group and the possibility of continuous update and exchange of information, through meaningful interaction with other professionals working with cognitive and contextual therapies in Brazil and abroad.
Pursuant to these goals, every year FBTC promotes and organizes the Brazilian Conference of Cognitive Therapies (CBTC) ), as well as international events, short-term courses, workshops, and conferences to enhance the theoretical and practical education of professionals devoted to cognitive and contextual therapies.
Since 2005, FBTC has been in charge of Brazilian Journal of Cognitive Therapies (BJCT), whose objective is to promote and disseminate the production on cognitive and contextual therapies in Brazil. Through its events and publications, FBTC encourages scientific debate and the exchange of experiences in a community that stands out for knowledge production on cognitive and contextual therapies.
With an itinerant format, FBTC board of directors is elected every two years during CBTCCheck the former boards and the current one by clicking here.
FBTC is mainly regulated by its Articles of Incorporation, a document currently in its third version, duly recorded in the correspondent bodies. Check below FBTC Articles of Association and Internal Regulation
